# Shopify

> Connect Shopify to Moshi, manage product visibility, and resolve connection or catalog problems.

Connect Shopify to use your store's products in Moshi sales flows.
The connection also supports discount codes and links purchases to Moshi conversations.

## Before you connect

You need a Shopify store and access to install the Moshi app.
You also need access to the Moshi workspace that will use the store.
A store cannot link to two Moshi workspaces at the same time.

## Connect your store

1. Open `Settings` in Moshi, then select `Integrations` and `Shopify`.
2. Select `Connect Shopify` to open the [Moshi app listing](https://apps.shopify.com/moshi).
3. Install Moshi for the intended Shopify store.
4. Review the permissions and billing approval shown by Shopify.
5. Complete the Moshi sign-in and store connection in the opened window.
6. Return to Moshi and check the connected store details.

If you start inside Shopify, open the Moshi app and select `Connect` under `Your Moshi account`.
Complete sign-in in the opened window.
The Shopify page updates after the connection succeeds.
Confirm that `Connected as` shows the intended Moshi workspace.

## Permissions and automatic setup

Shopify asks you to approve access during installation.
Moshi uses that access for these functions:

| Access | Purpose |
| - | - |
| Products, inventory, and purchase options | Import products, variants, stock, and subscription options. |
| Product publications | Control which products appear on the Moshi sales channel. |
| Orders and checkout data | Sync orders and link purchase activity to conversations. |
| Discounts | Create and use discount codes in sales flows. |
| Storefront carts | Build carts and send shoppers to checkout. |
| Pixels and storefront scripts | Connect supported storefront activity to Moshi conversations. |

Moshi starts catalog and order sync after the store connection succeeds.
It also sets up the tracking pixel and storefront script automatically.
Catalog import continues after the connection screen reports success.

The Moshi app shows `Some permissions were declined` when required access is missing.
Reopen Moshi from your Shopify admin and review the permission request.
Missing permissions can prevent cart creation or checkout.

## Check the connection

Open the Shopify integration details in Moshi to review the store domain, sync counts, and connection status.
Use `Open Shopify admin` to check the same store in Shopify.

The Moshi app inside Shopify shows the connected workspace and product publishing counts.
Those counts cover active Shopify products in Moshi's catalog.
Draft and archived products do not count as active catalog products.
Select `Bulk edit products in Shopify` to review publication for multiple products.

## Product and inventory sync

Moshi starts importing your active Shopify products when you connect your store.
Catalog sync includes titles, descriptions, images, variants, prices, and inventory.
Keep these fields current in Shopify, even if your product page uses a custom layout.
Moshi schedules subsequent product and inventory syncs every six hours.
New products and inventory changes wait for the next sync, plus processing time.
Shopify product notifications do not trigger an immediate catalog update.

After a sync completes, reload the flow builder to load the updated catalog.
Reloading the builder does not start a Shopify sync.

## Product availability

Open `Products` in Moshi to show or hide products and individual variants.
A product must be visible to Moshi before you can select it for a flow.
If the product has variants, at least one variant must also be visible and available.
Draft, archived, deleted, and disconnected-store products are unavailable through the active Shopify catalog.

When the Moshi sales channel is set up, product visibility changes also update publication to that channel in Shopify.
If Shopify rejects a visibility change, Moshi reports an error and keeps the previous setting.

Zero inventory does not always prevent a sale.
Moshi treats a variant as sellable when it has positive inventory or Shopify allows continued sales when out of stock.

## A synced product is missing from the flow picker

The flow builder currently loads only the first 100 products, ordered by sales count.
Search and `Show more` use that loaded list.
They do not load the rest of your catalog.

If your store has more than 100 products, a new product can sync successfully and still be absent from the flow picker.
Waiting for another sync or reloading the builder does not remove this limit.
Contact the Moshi team with the product name and Shopify product URL if this limit blocks your flow.

## Disconnect and reconnect

You can select `Disconnect` in Moshi's Shopify integration details.
You can also open Moshi inside Shopify and select `Disconnect` under `Your Moshi account`.
Confirm the action when prompted.

Disconnecting stops store sync and makes the store's catalog unavailable to Moshi conversations.
Disconnecting leaves the Shopify app installed and does not cancel its Shopify subscription.
To remove the app, uninstall Moshi in Shopify admin.

To reconnect, open the Shopify connection again and complete sign-in.
Moshi starts a new sync after the store connection succeeds.
Check product visibility before you use the catalog in a flow.

## Connection problems

| Message or symptom | What to do |
| - | - |
| The connection window does not open | Allow the connection popup, then select `Connect` again. |
| The connection times out | Finish sign-in in the opened window, then retry the connection. |
| The link is missing or expired | Start a new connection from Shopify instead of reusing an old connection URL. |
| The store is already linked to another organization | Check the connected workspace. Contact the Moshi team if you need to move the store. |
| Billing approval is required | Return to Shopify and review the billing approval request. |
| Moshi reports a billing setup failure | Contact the Moshi team with the store domain and error message. |
| A new product is missing | Check its active status and visibility, then allow the next sync to complete. Check the [flow picker limit](#a-synced-product-is-missing-from-the-flow-picker). |

When you contact the Moshi team, include the store domain and the exact error message.
For catalog problems, also include the product name and Shopify product URL.
