# Claude Desktop and Claude.ai

> Install the Moshi plugin in the Claude desktop app or on Claude.ai, or add the server as a custom connector.

The desktop app and Claude.ai install the Moshi **plugin**, not a custom connector.
The plugin carries Moshi's guided workflows as well as its tools.

Plugins need a paid Claude plan: Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise.
On a free plan, add the server as a custom connector instead.

## Install the plugin

**1. Open the Plugins tab**

Select `Customize` in the left sidebar, then the `Plugins` tab.

In Cowork, open `Customize` from the `Cowork` tab first.

**2. Add the marketplace**

Under `Personal plugins`, select `+`, then `Add marketplace`.
Choose `Add from a repository` and enter:

```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
https://github.com/moshi-labs/moshi-claude-plugin
```

**3. Install Moshi**

Install `moshi`, then sign in to Moshi when it prompts you to connect.
Select the organization that this client can use.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Moshi's two guided workflows are MCP prompts, and prompts do not appear in the tools list.
> Find them by selecting `+` in the composer, then `Connectors`, then `moshi`.
> A prompt that is working correctly will never show up under tools.

## Add the server without the plugin

Use this on a free plan, or when you want the tools without the workflows.

**1. Open Connectors**

Select `Customize`, then `Connectors`, then `+`, then `Add custom connector`.

**2. Enter the server URL**

```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
https://mcp.moshi.ai/mcp
```

**3. Connect**

Select `Connect` and sign in to Moshi.

## Team and Enterprise

An Owner adds the connector once for the whole workspace.
Open `Organization settings`, then `Connectors`, then `Add`.
Hover `Custom` and select `Web`.

Members then sign in as themselves.
Each member opens `Customize`, then `Connectors`, and selects `Connect`.

Each member's organization selection is their own.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom | Cause and fix |
| - | - |
| Moshi does not appear after installing | The desktop app starts connectors at launch only. Quit it fully and reopen. |
| The guided workflows are missing | They are prompts, not tools. Look under `+`, then `Connectors`, then `moshi`. |
| `Authorization required`, or a `401` | The connection is not signed in. Reconnect from your connector settings. |
| A new Moshi tool is missing | The tool list is cached per connection. Quit the app and reopen. |

## Disconnect

Remove the connector or the plugin in `Customize`.
On Team and Enterprise, an Owner removes it for the workspace under `Organization settings`.
