# Claude Code

> Install the Moshi plugin in Claude Code, or add the hosted MCP server on its own.

Claude Code can install Moshi two ways.
The plugin gives you the MCP tools and Moshi's guided workflows.
The server on its own gives you the tools only.

## Install the plugin

The plugin is the recommended path.

**1. Add the marketplace**

Run this inside Claude Code:

```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
/plugin marketplace add moshi-labs/moshi-claude-plugin
```

From your shell instead:

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
claude plugin marketplace add moshi-labs/moshi-claude-plugin
```

**2. Install Moshi**

```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
/plugin install moshi@moshi
```

From your shell instead:

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
claude plugin install moshi@moshi
```

**3. Restart Claude Code**

Plugins load when a session starts.
A running session does not pick up a new plugin.

**4. Authenticate**

Run `/mcp` and select `moshi`.
A browser window opens for you to sign in to Moshi and select an organization.

> [!TIP]
>
> Run `/mcp` and confirm that `moshi` reports a connected state.

## Use it

Ask for what you want in plain language.
You can also run the guided workflow directly:

```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
/moshi:scale-what-works
```

## Install the server on its own

Use this when you want the tools without the plugin's workflows.

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
claude mcp add --transport http moshi https://mcp.moshi.ai/mcp
```

Add `--scope user` to make the server available in every project rather than the current one.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom | Cause and fix |
| - | - |
| Claude Code does not see the plugin | Plugins load at session start. Restart, then run `claude plugin list` to confirm it installed and is enabled. |
| `Authorization required`, or a `401` | The connection is not signed in. Run `/mcp`, select `moshi`, and authenticate. |
| A new Moshi tool is missing | The tool list is cached per connection. Reconnect the server. |

## Disconnect

Run `/mcp`, select `moshi`, and disconnect.
To remove the plugin entirely, run this from your shell:

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
claude plugin uninstall moshi@moshi
```
